Founder / Co-Founder / CEO / COO — LedgerLabs

Financial and accounting operations, done right.

About LedgerLabs

Financial visibility is the lifeblood of any growing business, yet thousands of SMBs ($1M-$20M in revenue) operate in the dark. They rely on disorganized bookkeepers, late monthly closes, and fragmented AP/AR processes that leave founders flying blind.

LedgerLabs is an execution-first financial operations firm that guarantees a 'close-by-date' promise. We don't just categorize transactions; we provide systematic, professional-grade bookkeeping and month-end close pods.

By combining standardized charts of accounts, strict monthly checklists, and deep integration with QBO/Xero, LedgerLabs transforms messy financials into clean, actionable reporting without the enterprise CFO price tag.

What You'll Build

You will build an outsourced accounting powerhouse. Your mission is to define the 'Starter' and 'Growth' packages, build an airtight month-end close template, and scale a team of remote bookkeepers who deliver flawless financials by the 10th of every month.

Your Responsibilities

As the CEO, you are responsible for executing from 0 to 1.

Standardize the Close

Build the definitive month-end close checklist and reporting pack that will be used across all LedgerLabs clients.

Close the First Sale

Network with CPA firms and founders to close your first deal. You are responsible for personally driving sales and securing the first 3-5 retainer clients.

Own the Revenue Engine

Drive sales and own the revenue generation engine. Build a scalable pipeline to acquire new SMBs and CPA firm partnerships while ensuring the firm scales profitably.

Execute Early Deliverables

Roll up your sleeves and oversee the initial month-end closes to ensure the process works before handing it off to the pods.

Scale the Accounting Pods

Hire, train, and manage pod leads and bookkeepers to maintain QA sampling and zero-error tolerances.

Who We're Looking For

  • Strong background in accounting, corporate finance, or financial operations (CPA preferred but not strictly required if ops-heavy).
  • Expertise in cloud accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) and modern finance stacks (Ramp, Bill.com).
  • Experience executing or managing the month-end close process for multiple entities or divisions.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into simple, actionable insights for non-financial founders.
  • Sales capability to pitch retainer services to SMB owners and CPA firm partners.

The Ideal Candidate

You are likely a former Controller, Director of Finance, or an entrepreneurial CPA who is tired of corporate bureaucracy and wants to build their own firm. You are meticulous, process-oriented, and frustrated by the low quality of typical outsourced bookkeeping. You understand that good accounting is a product of great operational systems.

Compensation & Equity

You will be funded with a living stipend for the initial 90-day launch phase. Once you close your first retainers and prove the close-by-date SLA, your compensation shifts to a revenue-backed salary plus significant founding equity.
